December is upon us! That’s right, it’s the last month of the year, so make it count.
Now – December 24
Christmas Markets
The Xmas spirit can be felt everywhere in Zurich – from the street decorations, to the singing and of course to the markets. These markets are the perfect venue for spontaneous or planned meet-ups after work to enjoy a warm glass of gluweine, a fondue and clearly some shopping.
Below is a list of the top ones in Zurich:
Zurich Christmas Market Bellevue – until December 24th
My favorite market is back! For those familiar with the Street Food Festival, the founders’ Katja and Vania’s style have done it again. This year’s market is distinguished by its special treats and surprises in the likes of a fairly large ice skating rink and a delightful Fondue Stübli in the cosiest Chalet ever especially constructed for this event.
Location: Sechselaeutenplatz in front of the Opera House
Zurich Christmas Market at Hauptbahnhof – until December 24th
The glitter and shine of the Swarovski crystals may blind you! This market was crowned as Europe’s biggest indoor markets with a stunning 15m tall Swarovski Christmas Tree and 150 booths.
Location: Hauptbahnhof, Zurich’s main train station
Christmas Market by the Singing Christmas Tree – until December 23rd
Listen to the beautiful choirs as you treat yourself to delicious treats.
Now – January 17th
Andy Warhol The Life Years – until 17th January
ETH is presenting “Andy Warhol The Life Years 1949-1959”. This unique exhibit reveals drawings from Warhol’s early creative phase which debuted the development of the “bottle-line” technique he is so famous for.
Afterwards hot wine punch at “Roose Bar” in the courtyard.
Delicatessa Pop Up Dinner – Globus Zurich Bahnhofstrasse
Ristorante Accademia del Gusto will be cooking a four-course meal with tips and tricks from chefs Stefano and Mariana Piscopo. CHF 190 for a 4 course menu including, wine, water and coffee or tea.
