I was introduced to Frau Gerolds Garten right after moving here from New York. The summer was at its peak and everyone was out celebrating. The crowd, vibe and music were quite reminiscent of what one would find in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Needless to say that I was really excited by this new find!
Before this space became what it is today, it was a vacant industrial land overlooking the railway tracks. Mrs Gerold understood the importance of the location (at the foot of the Prime Tower) and decided to create a temporary beer garden for the summer of 2012. And what began as a summer project took a life of its own and has since become an institution offering unique shopping, events and best of all a community garden raising a variety of herbs, salads, vegetables and fruits, all of which are used in the kitchen!

In the summer, the hipster crowd spreads outside mingling and drinking while in the fall, they find refuge under the wooden hut where the open fireplace keeps them warm and cozy.
