As you probably have noticed by now, I love St.Moritz and try to go there as often as I can. Luckily the stars have been aligned this year and I got to go there many times already (and it’s not over!).
When the opportunity came to experience Giardino hotels in both Zürich and St. Moritz, back to back I jumped up and down! Within 3 hours, we went from Urban Cool to Nature chic. I was hoping for lots of snow and sun… Happy to report that I got both 🙂
The ride there was beyond scenic and magical. Three hours went by so fast. Upon arrival at the train station, we got greeted by the Giardino‘s driver who took us to our hotel in a super sexy Ranger Rover (original look). Not a bad start!!
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The Giardino mountain is the type of hotel that keeps on giving and keeps on surprising you. At first glance, it seemed pretty traditional and rather small. But as I walked in and got to discover it, I was blown away – very different from all the other five-star hotels I stayed at in St. Moritz. This one is understated but with a huge flair – basically a super stylish boutique hotel.
I felt at home the moment I walked in. It’s the type of hotel where one can just hang out without ever feeling homesick or lonely. The colors are vibrant, the furniture modern but also comfortable and the materials used are top of the line. Those details are what create the Magic.
Not to mention the staff: present, engaged and agreeable.
I had no idea that..
- This building used to be an all girls boarding school!
- The hotel is comprised of seven historical buildings all linked by underground passageways.
Traditional Engadine on the outside, cosmopolitan on the inside.
OUR ROOM
What a treat. Once again all the details of our Junior suite were meticulously planned and executed – from the wooden floors, to the bedding, the earthy and warm colors, to the amount of natural light entering the room and of course the views – pure bliss!
AMENITIES
KIDS CORNER
What makes this hotel truly special is the number of amenities offered but also how they’re packaged. To me the Giardino St.Moritz is a lifestyle hotel suited for anyone looking into a stylish, easy and practical yet unique gateway. It suits singles, parents, sporty people and party people alike. A little bit of everything for everyone.
Kids are in heaven there. Not only do they have their own playroom but they also have their own dining room with kitchen! They’re totally independent and don’t need the adults to boss them around 🙂
DIPIÙ DAY SPA
A place where guests can relax in peace and focus on looking and feeling good. I especially enjoyed the private beds around the pool with music playing in the background – absolute serenity.
DINING
Brunch
Nothing to add but pure joy! My favorite meal of the day 🙂
Hide & Seek sushi delight
By far the BEST miso soup I’ve had! I kept going back for more and had it been possible I would have taken some home with me.
For those who love fresh, mouth-melting, uncomplicated sushi I recommend you try the Sushi buffet on Friday evenings. A no brainer!
Itadakimasu!
Stüva
A traditional Engadine restaurant serving hearty Graubünden specialities, cooked with local ingredients from local suppliers. Apparently the nut cake served in a glass is the Go-To dessert! According to the locals, “it’s legendary!” Unfortunately, I removed processed sugar from my diet therefore didn’t try it, but you go for it and let me know what you think 🙂
