After much anticipation, the legendary and luxury hotel Ritz Carlton opened its doors in Geneva just a few days ago. The 152 year old hotel just underwent a massive makeover that took over 22 months and cost millions of dollars. The extensive remake of Hotel de la Paix propels the historic landmark to a whole new era where Art, Tradition, Time and Harmony synchronise and create balance and beauty.
To mark the occasion, the Ritz Carlton Hotel de la Paix and the Manz family curated an evening of delight and discovery for the jet setters of Geneva who fully indulged their senses and escaped reality for one evening.
Everyone present, from Princesse Françoise Sturdza to politician Carlo Lamprecht, the Torriani family to Blogger Florence Jacquinot (amongst so many other notable guests), admired and celebrated the new and modern interpretation of one the most elegant hotels in Geneva.
Since its inception, Hotel de la Paix set itself apart by engaging with the most prominent and celebrated guests from around the world. One of them happened to be Grace Kelly, a fervent fan even before she became princess of Monaco. She always stayed in the same suite, now fittingly named the Grace Kelly Presidential Suite. The magnificence of the view equalled her beauty. I have to say that chills ran through my spine the moment I entered the suite. It almost felt as she had just left. Each corner and detail in the room exuded her vibrant and beautiful energy.
Today, the hotel continues to ascertain itself by remaining sophisticated, elegant but also innovative. The modern touch is not only expressed in the art, design and furniture chosen but also in the cuisine introduced. For example, Fiskebar, inspired by Executive Chef Alessio Corda, is first-of-its-kind in Geneva as it introduces a new Nordic-Fusion concept using organic, fresh and regional dishes.
