If you are in town, are a movie aficionado, curious about other cultures and art, then do not miss the second edition of the Iranian Film Festival in Zurich (May 26 – June 1st).
The timing could not have been better with Iran’s huge wins at the Cannes Festival this year. “The Salesman” from Director Asghar Farhadi won prizes for best actor (Shahab Hosseini) and best screenplay.
I take pride in seeing my country being displayed and promoted in a positive light to help bridge the cultural gap between Iranians and the rest of the world. Cinema, commonly known as the 7th art, is a universal language which transcends all barriers.
The Iranian Festival of Zurich aims at introducing, encouraging and supporting Iranian filmmakers of all generations and categories. (documentary, feature, short film). And what better place to do that than in beautiful Zurich?
Thank you Mr Yadolah Dodge for organizing this event and surviving all the sleepless nights! Well worth it 🙂

There are so many great movies to choose from! Raving Iran for example, is one documentary I would love to see and hope to meet Anoosh and Arash, the main characters.
