Mode Suisse 15 rocks the Migros museum

Mode Suisse 15 rocks the Migros museum

Back to their old house! This latest edition of Mode Suisse once again rocked the Migros Museum of Contemporary Art in Zürich.

I’m not sure why they decided to not only go back to their original space but also concept – 1 show (instead of three) with showroom presentations. I must admit that it felt chaotic and disorganised. People were standing in a long line to get in and the show started with a 30 minute delay (very unswiss!)

The energy was high and the overall excitement was palpable. It’s always fun to be surrounded by creative people who let their guards down and fully indulge in the art of being them. I could have spent the entire evening just people watching! And to be even more candid, I would have preferred to watch them over the show! I left feeling perplexed with a lot of question marks. What is the big picture for some of these designers? What is their purpose? What is the story behind their creation?

The good news is that I really liked a couple of them – Mourjjan and Amorphose. The pieces shown were designed to be worn and not be displayed at avant garde art gallery.
