This past Friday I had the privilege to witness the official Reveal of the Royal Savoy Hotel in Lausanne by his excellency Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani (Chairman of Katara Hospitality), his excellency M. Hamad Abdulla Al-Mulla (Chief Executive Director of Katara Hospitality), Mr. Alain Kropf (General Manager of the Hotel Royal Savoy Lausanne), Michelin starred Chef Marc Haeberlin (Executive Chef of Hotel Royal Savoy Lausanne) and last but definitely not least, Mrs. Natacha Litzistorf (Municipal Councelor of the city of Lausanne).
Upon my arrival the hotel was buzzing with scores of journalists, cameras and over 600 guests, all there to witness and celebrate the newly renovated and revamped hotel which after months of construction has found a new breath and its place within the 5 star realm.
The evening hosted by his excellency Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani (Chairman of Katara Hospitality) and his excellency Dr. Mubarak Kleefiefh K. Alhajri (ambassador to the State of Qatar) greeted the Who’s Who of Lausanne, including prominent politicians and local celebrities with a gastronomy tour of the hotel.
And to top it all, famous singer Bastian Baker moved us to the beats of his top chart tunes. I didn’t know him before that evening but after hearing his voice and witnessing his charm, he has found a new fan in me!
